Mon, April 30, 2007 - 1:53 PMAnd another thing with the Myan calender... How did they figure out 0.0.0.0.0 (the begining), you'd have to know the begining to know end (13.0.0.0.0). I mean they got it to they day... how'd they get that right... -

Re: November 11, 2011
Tue, May 1, 2007 - 7:42 AM...or maybe the Mayan fella that was in charge of the calendar just quit doing it on that day and they couldn't find a replacement? -
-
Re: November 11, 2011
Tue, May 1, 2007 - 10:16 AMor maybe western appropriation of anothers culture leaves some details out, which happens everytime outsiders appropriate another peoples culture. -
-
Re: November 11, 2011
Wed, May 2, 2007 - 11:36 AMGood point!
.... er.. last time I checked, the Mayans are in the Western hemisphere. I think I know what you meant, however. -
-
Re: November 11, 2011
Wed, May 2, 2007 - 11:42 AM'western appropriation' isn't quite the same as western hemisphere. but we both know what i mean. (grins)

Wed, May 2, 2007 - 1:57 PM...or maybe the Mayan fella that was in charge of the calendar just quit doing it on that day and they couldn't find a replacement?
Its based on a 13 baktun cycle (13.0.0.0.0)...144,000 days = 1 baktun. The final day of the 13th baktun is Dec 21, 2012 A.D. Based on this the first day of the first baktun is (Julian Calender) August 11th, 3114 B.C. (0.0.0.0.0). . Mayan culture existed from1800B.C.-900 A.D., so why would they put (0.0.0.0.0) in 3114 B.C. I figure something significant must of happened then too...hmmmm -

Re: November 11, 2011
Wed, May 2, 2007 - 2:56 PMThere are many instances of the mayan people abandoning something when it is polluted by outside influence. Whistling vessels are an example. They stopped being made when mr. spaniard arrived. that year. promptly. Nothing is lost, it is merely kept in the hands of those who guard it. do any of you seriously think there was 'one guy' in charge of the calendar? No. There is a whole priesthood and society that supports it. It was put away, for the very examples being used today. People that perform brain surgery have more than one means to safely encode their knowledge. Knowledge of that kind can only be understood by someone that lives in the way the predecesors that encoded it did. pretty simple. This is why so much new age shamanism is of the flaky sort it is, play a drum, shake a rattle, and have a picture of a friggin' mountain on the wall, instead of sleeping on a mountain. Understanding the nature of shamans in third world nations is also what is missing in this tidy little renovated system. If something of this sort needs renovating, it is a clear indication that complete understanding of what is in existence is limited, at best. And with limited knowledge, how can one be in the position to know if renovation is needed? Its like asking a guy that works at the lumber yard to explain the complex architecture of the great pyramids. And just because he has enouph balls to make a guess, doesn't mean he understands the function or form of the pyramid. And there certainly should not be a college course of pyramid building taught by the local lumberyard man. i hope my metaphors did not require too much frontal processing.
peace. -

Re: November 11, 2011
Wed, May 2, 2007 - 2:57 PMmaking up, or adding new symbols, is what i mean by renovating.

Re: November 11, 2011
Thu, May 3, 2007 - 7:09 AMI like the way you put all this, it sounds like you've done some serious study of the culture, as well as having a sense of humor about the topic.
I can understand the reasoning behind guarding something once it becomes appropriated. I rather feel the same way about my bellydancing. Now that every youtuber in the country is puttin up their version of "bellydance", I want the various forms to be more sequestered and taught with more respect for the individual student to teacher relationship.

Thank you Roya. Check out the Bio-Regional Animism tribe, and the Vegetalismo tribe, you may find something intresting for thought there.
I included a link to Wade Davis' "Ethnosphere", its a great presentation, and good for everyone to see in regards this subject of cultural appropriation. -

Re: November 11, 2011
Thu, January 8, 2009 - 9:48 AMThe beginning of the calendar at 3114 BC is because that is supposed to be the date of the world's first known culture that showed a centralized system.
The end of the cycle that we are in isn't the end of the calendar, just the end of this cycle. If memory serves me right there isn't necessarily an end to the calendar, but the calendar does place an end to humans being human sometime in the year 73rd century. Apparently that is when the race completely realizes its full telepathic potential and no longer has a use for a physical body and exists purely as energy.

Re: November 11, 2011
Thu, May 1, 2008 - 8:16 AMOctober 28th, you mean? Mayan count? The end of the cycle. But energies will dissolve slowly towards 2014 and 2020. a
Astrology is a part of every life east or west. Why the controversial? What is eastern astrology and does it comply to present astronomic standards?
The process of dissolution of false ego on planetary level is in accordance with autumn 2011 and apocalypse, in that it challenges the falsities of the past towards Armageddon. Klaudio Zic introduced two techniques. One is the Academic zodiac, the killer of false astrologers, and the other the RTRRT, apparently just an instant magick series of techniques, a sort of wish come true device. It must be hard for those who pretend to be astrologers to realize that they
a) never were and will never be so
b) every single thing they did was wrong
c) they have served the devil but get no wages
Imagine an expert in sophisticated astrology getting his first lessons from you, beginners, but sincere beginners, as armed with primitive astronomic programs such as google.com/sky
True Mind has immense joy in disrupting the devil's intents while slashing the minds of people who have been standards for ages. Kepler, Newton and Galileo are nothing comparing to your own true mind!
So be it.
Klaudio Zic

P.S.
For the newcomers: the zodiac has 22 constellations. As for the ascendant, the skies change due to precession. There are 16 ascendants if you look at the east. -

Re: November 11, 2011
Thu, May 1, 2008 - 12:09 PMAll at base is symbols' geometry, symbols correspond to numbers'
Mayan calander OXO' if you can follow the symbol'~
The geometry of the Macro-cosm represented as numbers'
Man being the Micro-cosm of the universe'
numberes'~ of Mayan years if you like' no matter'~
Look at the numbers' run the numbers with 6' as a common'
also the number of the DNA moleclue 111' the number of man, the number of woman' the cycle of the sun' the moons'
the position of the stars'
Geometry, from point to a sphere' man the creation from point' straight line, right' triangle' square' pyramid' reflected' the number of a sphere' 6'
13 cycle ' of the 13th' twelve plus the base to a pyramid' they did build pyramids' the same math as the egyptians'~ cos we are all the same math'~
As to the western culture adding their own numerology 8th 11th, 3114 B.C. n' 21, 2012 A.D.
Numbers is of why' a calander only gives correspondenc to a day in reference to a number'
Run the numbers' see of the geometry and the numerology' this is why they made the calande the way they did'
They also knew that everything is connected, man just a minature of the universe as a whole'
Bliss'~
Motu'~
Claudio' who is this devil you speak of' only evil of what men do or concieve to do through misguided desire to do or desire of an evil intent' devil' :)'~
All this is of man's mind brother'
There is no devil' as there is no fear' only of what you reflect through mind'
All is in the mind' not without'
All is within the mind of the universe'
We have no mind' only reflections through emotions fear' and ego'~
There is no devil' only in your mind'
Bliss'~
There is no fear' only in your mind'~

Re: November 11, 2011
Tue, January 6, 2009 - 2:34 PMThe Bible and Castaneda make abundant mention of devil and hell'
Lord' of which bible are you reading'
There is no mention of "Devil" in the bible' there is onlytwo mentions of "Devils and Demons"
You reading a Catholic bible full of hell and damnation ?
Or a New age bible full of the Devil'
Show me of where the word "Devil" is in the bible' cos it is all lost in translation'
The Hebrew bible makes no mention of a devil' only "Devils and demons" plural'
