This week is American Indian Awareness week...

first I thought I would not share that here as I didn't think it so revelant to dna activation..... but now that Ive spent the whole week honoring my Ancestors who walked before me, and honoring thos who walk sacred in Indian Way today by wearing my feathers all week long.. and seeing the results, I've decded this is a part of dna activation..

so here's the piece I wrote tonight about the journey of wearing my feathers all week

feeling quite content with the results of wearing my feathers to work all week to honor our Ancestors who walked before us, to honor those who currently walk sacred upon the Earth...

yesterday I sat with 2 supervisors for lunch.. explain this is American Indian awareness week to my friend, explain she could wears feather too, to honor her Ancestors who walked before her.. then the three of us discussed what Tribes we were from, and my friend says, "That explains our deep spirituality"

Then tonight as it is my Friday I wore many Crow feathers with my peyote stitched choker.. and feathered earrings.. and braids like I do... The lady next to me asked me what Tribe.. and why... and how it came to be that I sing this song... I explained to her the prophecies, Aztec prophecy 500 years ago spoke of a time that was coming when 2 worlds would collide, gave people signs so they would know their place in the prophecy because at the end of the prophecy it was said that then the people would come back together, relearn the dance and learn the new way to walk..... the man who shared with me had a group of dancers called The Sixth Sun.. He told me that after the after the Aztec spirit was broken that it was decide that the Aztec Indian would hide themselves within the Catholic Church.. He told me the history of how in the beginning they were not allowed to dance, then they asked could they play their instruments... then with time they were allowed to dance some, so they were able to keep some of their dance that way...

He said when he was a boy in Mexico big ceremony the people come out to dance... caught his heart afire the Aztec dance, something called within him... he went to elders to learn the history, was taught the dance and now he travels with great respect into the Catholic churches, kneels before their altar and asks permission to dance before the people.. he calls them to remember the dance. he does not take their religion or their beliefs from them, just calls them to remember the dance, they come join his group..

He said when he was young, the dance came inside his heart, but he was only one within his family who the dance came to like that..

I told my friend, same with me, my dad left the Tribe, left the way. He wanted to take pills to find the cure, but when I was young the doctor said we don't know what's wrong, just have to medicate you for the pain for rest of your life.. and I said no way... My dad he walked away and I was the only one within the family who the deal where I had to open the path, like wear feathers every day for a week .. I told them, my dad, he wanted pills, did not want to go out to the tree with the blade to scrape the tree for medicine..

and with that..

2 more people opened up to me and began sharing their Indian history...
